Here are some frequently asked questions about the church:
Who is Bible Believers Church?
Bible Believers Church in Berkshire is an independent, non-denominational, Christ-centred, Bible-believing Christian ministry and fellowship. We meet at 10.30am on Sunday mornings at White Waltham Parish Hall to praise the Lord Jesus Christ, study the Scriptures together, and enjoy fellowship one with another. We trust the Bible (Authorized Version) as the inerrant and infallible word of God and seek to live according to it.
Why do you call yourselves a ‘church’?
All saved believers (born again Christians – John 3:3) are part of the “body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27) and the “church of God” (Acts 20:28). The visible church is simply a called out assembly of believers who meet in any location, whether it be in a house, in a barn, in a garden shed, in a quiet café somewhere, or indeed in a Parish Hall. It is NOT about a building, or about a man, or about rituals / formalities / sacraments / traditions of men, or about money, or about religion, or about being a social club, or about numbers of people attending, or about competing with other churches … it’s simply about SAVED believers coming together for fellowship, praise, teaching, preaching, and bringing others to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Why did you choose the Maidenhead area for your church service?
Although we have many people who travel about 50mins each week to attend the Sunday service, most of the people within the ministry live in and around the Maidenhead area. White Waltham Parish Hall is a good central location for us all.
Are you part of any group, organisation, ecumenical, evangelical alliance, denomination, ‘churches together’ movement?
Absolutely NOT! The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the church and has the preeminence (Colossians 1:18) over EVERYTHING (Ephesians 1:22-23). His inspired and preserved word, the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible, is our final authority on ALL matters of faith and practice, NOT man.
Is your church service open for anyone to attend?
Absolutely YES!! We offer a very warm welcome and a place where non-compromising Christians who seek the TRUTH can come along for interactive studies/debates/discussions, in order to help those seeking a closer walk/relationship with the Lord. Our doors are always open too to those who are not Christians, but are genuinely seeking to know the truth about God, and what He requires of each person on this earth in order to be guaranteed a place in Heaven.
What will I find when I visit?
A warm welcome, a non-compromising group of Christians that seek the TRUTH, a church that bases all its teaching and preaching upon the Authorized Version King James Holy Bible, sincerity and honesty, a reverence for the Lord, an opportunity to worship the Lord and remember all He has done for us, interactive studies/debates/discussions, a congregation with a heart for evangelism, a group of Christians who are seeking a closer walk/relationship with the Lord, enthusiasm and excitement about the Lord and studying His word, a church that has a Final Authority to turn to in every situation, a church where we preach in love about sin, Hell, Judgement, the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, false cults/doctrines, living for the Lord, life, the Rapture, etc., and Christians who truly love the Lord Jesus Christ.
Some things you will NOT find here include; a band with a worship leader (oftentimes an opportunity for ‘Christians’ to show off their talent and seek the glory for themselves), a stage/platform for a smooth-talking ‘preacher’ to air his views and tell stories (oftentimes seen these days as an entertainer), a host of Bible versions (we only use the Authorized Version), cliques (where you feel you don’t belong or fit in), a group of ‘modern-day Christians’ who are only interested in the social aspect of church life, gossiping and backbiting, a church membership form to fill in, RELIGION!
Why do you only use the Authorized Version Bible (aka King James Bible)?
When it comes to the word of God, the issue is not about preference, but about preservation. A number of times in Scripture, God promised that He would preserve His word forever (Psalm 12:6-7). The Authorized Version King James Holy Bible is that inspired and preserved word of God. ALL modern Bible versions are based on corrupt manuscripts. The AV is perfect and stands alone among the hundreds of Satanic counterfeits such as the NIV, ESV, Good News, and even New King James (which is NOT a KJB at all!). For detailed information about the history of these perVersions, and why the AV is the inspired and preserved word of God, please visit this page.
Do I have to become a member of your church before I can attend a service?
No! You are more than welcome to come along whenever you want to. The Bible does indeed encourage regular Christian fellowship with saved believers in order for us to ‘build each other up’ in the Scriptures, comfort one another, share soulwinning testimonies, and so on. And we of course do the same. However, there are NO membership forms or anything else that you will need to fill in.
Do you ask for money?
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). If you love the Lord, you will willingly and cheerfully give whatever amount you can to His work! You give as the Lord leads; we certainly don’t promote a specific percentage. Rest assured that whatever money you do give to Bible Believers Church always goes straight towards supporting a number of gospel preaching, soulwinning ministries and missionaries, and supporting the poor saints (Galatians 2:10).
