Women, what image are you portraying?

And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

(Proverbs 7:10)

There are various passages in the New Testament explaining how a Christian woman should dress.

But also, we read in Proverbs 7:10 that God lets us know that there are clothes a woman can wear that makes her look like a “harlot” (A woman who prostitutes her body for hire; a prostitute; wanton; lewd; low; base. – Websters 1828).

As a Christian woman, how do you dress? Does it please the Lord? Does it honour your father and mother? Does it show respect in a church setting towards your fellow brothers and sisters in the faith? Do you look like the ‘world’ or a new creature in Christ? Are you a good example/testimony/witness of a godly Christian woman to the lost souls that need to be saved?

Outward dress that magnifies the flesh invites unclean spirits. Be careful what you put on. Be careful what image you portray.

    Amen. Deuteronomy 22:5 says “Thou shalt not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are an abomination unto The Lord thy God.”
    Could this mean women wearing a tie? Or boxer shorts? What is the one different item of clothing a man has always worn to a woman and a woman to a man? It can only mean skirts and trousers. You can tell a man by his trousers and a woman by her skirt. Or at least, you could up until a few years ago. A few decades ago women started “wearing the trousers” in her family and the whole western world changed for the worst. Now you can’t tell what ‘someone’ is by standing behind them in a queue. And it makes God want to be sick. It is an ABOMINATION to Him. Why pick one abomination and obey that and ignore the rest, when The Lord never changes yesterday, today and forever? This is just as much an abomination to Him now as it was then. Proverbs 6:16 tells us that an “abomination ” to the Lord is something even WORSE than something He HATES! So why do it? We are supposed to be different to the world. Hide our ‘nakedness’ and be modest. And try and please God, which is not committing a sin which the BIble says is something He HATES. Are you a male? Or a female? You need to make that decision based on your birth, which is how your creator made you – “male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27.”) and not get up every day deciding which one YOU want to be today. God has already decided. We should be grateful and thank Him for who we are and keep it that way. Anything else is an abomination to The Lord Jesus.
